Past graduates have used this experiential experience to secure jobs in the outdoor industry, as well as to strengthen their candidacy for academic and work opportunities. Previous experience with the activities listed (above) is not required of participants. Outdoor Outreach will provide all necessary gear and instruction for outdoor activities. These activities include, but are not limited to, rock climbing, surfing, paddleboarding, mountain biking, environmental stewardship work, kayaking, camping, snorkeling, hiking, and backpacking! This program is composed of both outdoor, and workshop based, hands-on learning experiences with an emphasis on civic engagement and leadership skills.Īccepted participants will engage in, and learn how to instruct, a range of outdoor recreation activities in a variety of parks, beaches, and open space areas within San Diego and throughout California. Participants of the Leadership Program will be able to experience a wide variety of outdoor activities and open spaces, practice hands-on technical skills in a professional setting, engage with their communities as advocates for diversity, equity, and inclusion in the outdoors, and explore a wide variety of career and networking opportunities with industry leaders such as the California Outdoor Recreation Partnership (CORP), Joshua Tree National Park, Mesa Rim Climbing, PRana, HOKA ONE ONE, and the CA State Parks Foundation. The Louisiana Outdoor Outreach Program (LOOP) will target inner city schools and community agencies that serve students who are considered at-risk or Title. The Leadership Program, based in San Diego, CA, is an 8-week training program which provides under-represented young adults, ages 16 - 20, with opportunities to develop leadership skills, gain valuable work experience, earn a paycheck, and explore the outdoors. Participants of The Leadership Program will experience a wide variety of outdoor activities and engage with their communities as advocates for diversity, equity, and inclusion in the outdoors. She also holds the 2nd state exam, whose American equivalency would be the state bar exam, which allows her to be a licensed lawyer in Germany.The Leadership Program is a paid training experience that provides youth with opportunities to develop leadership skills and explore the outdoors. She also taught in Greece as an Adjunct Professor for the French MBA program at New York College in the fields of European Business Law and as an instructor at the Goethe-Institute, Athens.Īnett holds a Masters of Business Administration from the Institute Universitaire Kurt Bosch, Sion, Switzerland, and a Master of Law from the Free University of Berlin, Germany. She leveraged this knowledge to start a consulting company with her partners focusing on analyzing financial data for strategic business decisions. She was Vice President for SPM Technologies, later acquired by SAP SI, for Process Management/Quality Control and Technical Editorship/Document Management while simultaneously acting as Project Manager for multiple Fortune 500 companies on consulting projects in the fields of process reengineering, business development and organizational restructuring. He has served as an advisor to the California Governor’s Office, California State Parks and the National Park Service on developing programs for at-risk youth.Īnett started her career with Big4 Ernst & Young in Germany, conducting financial and process audits. He is frequently asked to speak at national conferences and symposiums, and to consult with government agencies, academic institutions and other nonprofit organizations. Drawing from his own personal experiences, Chris developed the Outdoor Outreach program model and philosophies that have proven to be so successful working with at-risk and underprivileged youth.Ĭhris has been nationally recognized as an expert on programming for youth at-risk. In 1999, he founded Outdoor Outreach as a means to give at-risk and underprivileged youth the same life-changing opportunities. It was this passion that helped Chris overcome his own at-risk childhood. As a competitive skier, whitewater river guide, expedition rock climber and avid surfer, Chris has spent most of his life developing a passion for the outdoors.
